Are cats nearsighted?
Cats are nearsighted, only able to see objects at a distance of about 6 meters; anything further away becomes blurry. Cats can only see a vague, approximate shape of distant objects, but they are extremely sensitive to movement; they react immediately to any movement. Although cats are nearsighted, their hearing and sense of smell compensate for this limitation, making them very agile. 
Although cats with poor eyesight cannot see clearly and are colorblind, their rod cells in their retinas are exceptionally good, making them highly sensitive to light and able to see clearly even in dim nighttime light. In addition, cats have excellent dynamic vision, allowing them to accurately detect even small, rapidly moving objects. This dynamic vision and light perception enable them to see and catch prey even at night.
In addition, cats have an advantage in having big eyes—their field of vision is wide, with a field of view of about 220-285 degrees, so they can see other animals moving around nearby.
