Things you need to prepare to raise a kitten:
1. Food and water: cat food, goat milk, cat bowl
Newly weaned kittens should drink goat milk for a period of time before gradually feeding them kitten food soaked in goat milk. Once the kittens are adults, they can be fed adult cat food. Prepare two cat bowls: one for food and one for water.
2. Elimination: Cat litter, litter box
It is recommended to use tofu cat litter for kittens first, because kittens are very curious and may try to eat the litter. It is not a big problem for kittens to eat a small amount of this type of litter. Once the kittens are older, you can consider choosing other types of cat litter.
It is recommended to buy a top-down litter box, which can block some of the odor and reduce the amount of litter the cat takes out.
3. Sleeping: Cat bed, cat carrier
In summer, you can buy a cardboard cat bed, which your cat will love. In winter, an open, warm cat bed will suffice. (Alternatively, you can skip the cat bed; many cats prefer to sleep on a bed.) Using a cat carrier makes it easier to take your cat out; holding them directly in your arms might cause them to resist.
4. Health: Deworming medication, probiotics, nutritional paste, hairball remedy/cat grass
Deworming medication is divided into internal and external deworming. Kittens should be dewormed internally once every 1 to 3 months, and external deworming can be done once a month to prevent fleas.
5. Cleaning: Nail clippers, cat hair comb, ear cleaning solution, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, disinfectant
Nail clippers are used to trim a cat's claws after they grow long, to prevent accidental injury to people.
6. Play: scratching post, catnip, cat toy
Cat scratching posts are for cats to sharpen their claws. Catnip can make cats excited, like they're drunk. I usually put a little catnip on the scratching post to entice the cat to scratch on it instead of around the sofa.
