Why do cats like to sleep close to people?
This is because it provides warmth, a sense of security, emotional support, physiological habits, and comfort.
1. Warming: Cats are warm-blooded animals, but they are more susceptible to cold than humans, especially in winter or in low-temperature environments. Cats will choose warm places to rest, and human body temperature can provide them with a comfortable heat source.
2. Sense of security: Cats feel safe and secure when they sleep next to their familiar owners. Being near someone they trust and are attached to makes them feel relaxed and secure, and the scent of their owner helps them feel happy and fall asleep peacefully. 
3. Affectionate dependence: If a cat grows up with its owner from a young age, it may regard the owner as its mother or a family member, imitate the intimate behavior among its own kind, and seek emotional comfort and physical contact.
4. Physiological habits: Some cats are used to sharing sleeping space with other members of the group, while in a family environment, the owner becomes their closest "companion".
5. Comfort: The owner's bed is often the softest and most comfortable place in the house, so cats will naturally choose such an environment to rest.
