Reasons why cats drool:
1. If a cat accidentally ingests a foreign object, it may drool. If the cat also exhibits symptoms such as gagging or loss of appetite, it may also drool.
2. It could also be caused by oral diseases in the cat, such as stomatitis, gingivitis, or oral ulcers.
3. It's also possible that the cat accidentally ingested something poisonous, causing the sudden drooling.
Solutions for drooling in cats:
1. Drooling in cats can be caused by stomatitis, pharyngitis, or gingivitis. For mild drooling, you can switch the cat's drinking water to diluted salt water and give it oral vitamin B2. For more severe cases, you can also use anti-inflammatory medication. If the cat is drooling excessively and has lost its appetite, it must be taken to the vet, and tooth extraction may be necessary.
2. Remove any foreign objects adhering to the mucous membrane, trim any sharp teeth, and discontinue any oral irritants. Provide liquid food, encourage frequent water intake, and rinse the mouth with water after feeding.
3. If the cat's condition is caused by poisoning, induce vomiting immediately to reduce the amount of toxic substances in its stomach, and then take it to the vet for treatment as soon as possible. After treatment, you can give the cat pet electrolytes to replenish the electrolytes lost due to vomiting and diarrhea caused by poisoning, and promote the recovery of bodily functions.
