Siamese cats' coat color changes with temperature and age. The lower the temperature, the darker the coat; the higher the temperature, the lighter the coat. Kittens are usually born white because the womb is very warm. As they grow, their coat color changes from pure white to light brown. Then, the coat color begins to darken in cooler areas such as the nose, ears, tail, and paw pads. Some Siamese cats have their entire face stained dark brown, while warmer areas of their body remain light brown or grayish-white.
The four traditional colors of Siamese cats:
1. Seal Point. The coat is cream-colored, with seal-colored markings and dark seal points. Seal point is the most common color for Siamese cats, and it's considered their original color. As temperatures drop, the head, limbs, tail, and parts of the body of a seal point Siamese cat will gradually turn black.
2. Blue accent color. The body is white, gradually turning light blue from the back, with blue-gray accent color and blue spots.
3. Chocolate Point: The body is white, and the points are chocolate. The most distinctive feature of the chocolate point is that only the nose, limbs, and the base of the tail turn black (chocolate), while the rest of the body remains pure white, unlike seal points and blue points which are entirely black or gray.
4. Light purple point color. The body is a light peach color with a yellowish-beige tinge, the point color is a slightly pinkish gray, the chest and lower jaw are white, and the tail may have slight markings, but dark colors are not allowed.
