A cat crying like a baby at night might indicate it's in heat. Cats in their heat cycle often howl at night, and male cats may also urinate indiscriminately to attract females. This is an instinctive animal behavior. When a cat howls at night, the owner can gently stroke its head to soothe it and give it treats to distract it, which should calm it down temporarily. After the heat cycle ends, the owner can take the cat for spaying/neutering.
Precautions for cats during their heat cycle:
1. During a cat's heat cycle, their appetite is often poor. You should feed them more palatable and nutritious food to supplement their nutrition.
2. Cats in heat have a strong urge to go out to find a mate, so owners should keep doors and windows closed at all times to prevent the cat from escaping.
3. Cats in heat have weaker immune systems, so be sure to keep them warm to prevent them from catching a cold.
