Norwegian Forest Cats have quite a few dietary restrictions. They cannot drink milk, as it will cause diarrhea. This is mainly because Norwegian Forest Cats lack the enzyme lactase, so they cannot break down lactose. They also cannot eat seafood such as crabs, squid, octopus, and cuttlefish. The proteins in these foods can easily cause allergies in Norwegian Forest Cats, and in severe cases, can even lead to death.
What do Norwegian Forest Cats eat?
1. Chicken breast. Chicken breast is very low in fat and rich in protein, so it's unlikely to cause obesity or high cholesterol. You can boil chicken breast in water and feed it to your cat. 2-3 times a week is enough; otherwise, it may cause your cat to become a picky eater.
2. Fish. It's well known that cats love fish, and fish is a good food for them because it's rich in protein, easily digestible, and contains abundant minerals. However, don't feed it to them too often, as this can make them tired of the food.
3. High-quality cat food. Cat food is arguably the most suitable food for cats in modern times. A high-quality cat food can meet a cat's daily nutritional needs, and it's ready to eat right out of the bag, saving time and effort. Cats also love to eat it.
