Cats have an underdeveloped heat dissipation system. They mainly dissipate body heat through their paw pads, ears, and skin, or, like dogs, through breathing. However, these two methods of heat dissipation are generally not very effective for cats.



Cats best dissipate heat through the pads of their paws. Therefore, in the summer, it is recommended that cat owners keep their cats in a cool, quiet environment to prevent heatstroke.
