A cat's anal glands are located on either side of the anus. Sometimes, inflammation or infection can occur due to accumulated secretions, leading to bleeding during or after defecation. Additionally, hard stools or sensitive skin around the anus can injure a cat during defecation, causing bleeding. Parasitic infections can also cause bleeding around the anus.

As an owner, if you encounter this situation, you can clean your cat's anus regularly, especially after they defecate, to reduce the risk of secretions buildup and infection. Providing a balanced diet, ensuring your cat gets enough water and fiber, helps prevent constipation and anal problems. Also, follow your veterinarian's advice and deworm your cat regularly to prevent parasite infections.
