Situations where cats cannot be dewormed:
1. Do not perform external parasite treatment on your cat immediately after bathing, as this may lead to treatment failure. It is recommended to wait 3 days after bathing before performing parasite treatment.
2. Internal deworming should not be performed on pregnant cats, as it can easily affect the fetus.
3. Do not deworm cats immediately after vaccination. When cats have just been vaccinated, their immunity is lowered, and deworming at this time will affect their health.
4. Do not deworm cats when they are experiencing stress, mainly for the sake of the cat's health.
5. Do not deworm cats when they are sick, anemic, or malnourished. Deworming medications have certain side effects and may worsen the cat's condition.
Precautions for deworming cats:
1. Before deworming, observe the cat's physical condition for any diarrhea, fever, or other symptoms.
2. The dosage of deworming medication must be based on the cat's weight and the instructions on the package insert.
3. Cats should be fasted for 5-6 hours before internal deworming and for another 3-4 hours after deworming.
4. Do not take a bath for one week after external parasite treatment.
5. If your cat has just been vaccinated, it should not be dewormed within seven days.
6. If the cat has just arrived at its new home, it is recommended to deworm it 3-5 days later.
