In most people's eyes, compared to pampered pet cats and dogs, domestic shorthair cats and dogs are symbols of robust health. Despite not eating high-end cat or dog food, they remain very healthy. Therefore, we might think that domestic shorthair cats are much easier to care for. 
The good health of domestic shorthair cats and dogs is largely due to their lifestyle. Compared to pet cats, domestic shorthair cats have more opportunities for exercise, so their physical condition is naturally better. Additionally, the saying "a little dirt won't hurt" holds some truth; having adapted to a variety of foods, domestic shorthair cats also have stronger digestive systems than pet cats.
However, this doesn't mean that domestic shorthair cats are necessarily easy to raise, even though they seem to have excellent health. In reality, we find that most domestic shorthair cats don't have very long lifespans. Despite appearing very lively, they are more prone to health problems due to irregular eating habits, though we rarely see these issues.
Therefore, we cannot be careless with domestic shorthair cats either. A reasonable diet and good daily care are very important. Because their physical condition is generally better than that of pet cats, they are indeed a little easier to raise. If the care is done correctly, there generally won't be any major problems. Don't ignore health issues just because they are domestic shorthair cats. If you find your cat is unwell and your attempts to treat it yourself fail, you should take it to a veterinary hospital as soon as possible.
