No matter the breed, shedding always has a reason. Shedding isn't exclusive to long-haired cats; short-haired cats shed too. The Shandong Lion Cat, also known as the Linqing Lion Cat, is a rare domestic cat breed, and there are many reasons why it sheds.
I. Nutrient Issues
The most common nutritional deficiency is protein deficiency, which often refers to insufficient animal protein, such as that found in meat and fish. A major reason for this is that many families still feed their Shandong Lion Cats rice. Without sufficient protein, such as fish and meat, hair loss will occur, and in severe cases, entire patches of fur will fall out. If your Shandong Lion Cat's hair loss is due to this, it's recommended that you reduce the proportion of fish in its diet. However, a simpler solution is to switch to cat food, as Shandong Lion Cats fed cat food generally have a more balanced diet. 
II. I'm sick
Shandong Lion Cats are also prone to illness. Once they get a skin disease, they will experience hair loss. So how do you determine whether it's shedding due to molting or skin disease? You can choose an area and keep plucking its fur. If you find that no matter how much you pluck, there is still a lot of fur, then it's molting. If you pluck and it becomes bald, then it's not molting!
III. Seasonal Substitution
When the weather changes from cold to warm, the hormones in Shandong Lion Cats undergo a dramatic shift. In summer, they shed their soft, fluffy winter coat, and in winter, they shed their coarse summer coat. Because of this type of shedding, there's no good way to stop it; you'll have to resort to manual shedding instead!
IV. Too much pressure
Shandong lion cats kept at home are confined to a small space for a long time, resulting in insufficient ventilation. The cats become restless because their desires are not fulfilled, and in severe cases, they lose their appetite, leading to hair loss.
When a cat is shedding, the owner needs to figure out the reason for the shedding in order to treat the problem effectively.
