Head: Maine Coon cats have large, round heads with high cheekbones, long, slightly concave noses, square, compact mouths, large, oval eyes in colors such as green, golden, and copper. Ears are large, wide at the base and pointed, with a wide distance between them. The inside of the ears is covered with dense, long ornamental hair that complements the body fur.

Body: Maine Coons possess a wild beauty, with a robust and imposing physique. Males can weigh up to 7 kg, and females up to 5 kg. They have a rectangular body, strong bones, well-developed muscles, and a broad, thick chest. Their tails are long, tapering to a thin tip, with bushy fur and dark markings.

Limbs: Maine Coons are large and robust, with proportions appropriate to their body length. Their toes are large and round, covered with feathering. Their fur is long, soft, smooth, and elastic, with the longest, drooping fur on the tail and belly. The neck fur is long and fluffy, while the shoulder fur is the shortest. There are approximately 30 different colors, with red, tan, chocolate, and silver being the most common. Stripes or patches are also sometimes seen, with the warm-toned brown tabby being the most popular.

Coat: Maine Coon cats have a coat that adapts to all seasons. The head, shoulders, and legs have a dense, silky, short coat; while the back and sides have a longer coat with prominent trousers and more abundant fur. A ruff is preferred. The undercoat is soft and fine; the outer coat is smooth, waterproof, and slightly oily. All colors are acceptable except for chocolate, lilac, pointed, mustard, and fawn.

Coat color: Maine Coon cats mainly come in solid colors, stripes, and mixed colors, with about 30 different colors in total. Red, tan, chocolate, and silver-white are the most common, and sometimes striped or patchy spots are also seen.

Size: Maine Coons are very large, weighing 4 to 10 kilograms. They have medium-length limbs, very well-developed muscles, and a solid bone structure. They have a powerful appearance and are very resilient. Their fur is long and coarse.

Deductions: Small head, thin cheeks, pointed mouth, pointed ears, and slender limbs.

Disqualification: Maine Coon cats with malocclusion (protruding lower jaw teeth), abnormally twisted tail, supernumerary toes, or white or button-like markings.
