1. Feeding method
It is crucial to establish the habit of feeding your Chinchilla cat at designated times and places. It's also important to note that younger cats need to eat more frequently and in larger quantities, typically at least four times a day. Adult cats only need to be fed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
2. Feeding amount
The amount of food should be determined based on the Chinchilla cat's age, size, digestive rate, and temperament. You can refer to the instructions on the food packaging or consult a veterinarian. To reduce food changes and maintain the health of your pet's teeth, it's advisable to alternate between canned food, dry kibble, and other similar foods.
3. Food intake control
Roughly 90% of cats understand how to manage their food intake to maintain a balanced and slender figure. However, this doesn't mean you should let them eat whatever they want. Overweight Chinchilla cats are more prone to health problems. If you want your cat to have a healthy body and ideal weight, besides controlling their food intake, you also need to provide them with toys to play with and exercise.
4. Drinking water requirements
Water is just as essential for Chinchilla cats as it is for humans. It's not only a necessary part of their diet but also a fundamental nutrient, yet it's easily overlooked by most owners. Although cat food contains water, you should always keep clean drinking water in your cat's bowl, especially in hot weather. This will prevent them from drinking from the toilet or searching for water in the kitchen or bathroom.
