Feeding cats cod liver oil can lead to excessive intake of vitamins A and D, potentially causing serious bone diseases. In daily cat care, two situations are particularly prone to vitamin A poisoning:
1. Feed them cod liver oil. Its main components are vitamins A and D.
2. Another method is to feed chicken liver over a long period of time.
Symptoms: Adult cats may exhibit osteoporosis, easy deformities, cervical vertebrae separation, weight loss, poor coat condition, and congenital malformations. When raising a pet cat, some foods should be fed with caution, and the cat should not be allowed to develop an excessive preference for any particular food, as these foods may cause harm. Owners should also be cautious when supplementing their cats with vitamins and minerals, as improper feeding can be harmful.
