Cat eye discharge is reddish-brown:
1. The cat food the owner is feeding the pet is of poor quality, and it is necessary to switch the cat food to a different brand.
2. The owner feeds the cat too much food with high oil and salt content, resulting in an unbalanced diet for the cat.
3. The cat may have blocked tear ducts. The owner can first use eye drops to flush the cat's eyes, and then take the cat to a veterinary hospital to have its tear ducts unblocked.
4. The cat may have contracted acute infectious diseases such as feline panleukopenia, feline infectious peritonitis, herpes, feline rhinotracheitis, or feline calicivirus, or eye and internal diseases.
5. If a cat's eyes are constantly secreting reddish-brown discharge, it could be due to dehydration, inflammation, or conjunctivitis.
6. Cats may also develop reddish-brown eye discharge due to factors such as a drop in ambient temperature or not being dried properly after a bath.
7. The owner did not clean the cat's eye discharge in time, and the discharge turned reddish-brown due to oxidation in the air.
If your cat's eye discharge is reddish-brown, you should be aware:
1. Owners should pay attention to their cat's diet and try to feed them bland food. Do not feed your cat human food.
2. The owner should encourage the cat to drink more water and feed it foods with high water content, such as freshly squeezed juice and goat milk powder.
3. When a cat produces a lot of red eye discharge, the owner can use eye drops to reduce the discharge.
4. Owners should clean the reddish-brown eye discharge from the corners of their cat's eyes promptly. You can first soften the discharge with a towel soaked in hot water, and then gently wipe it away with a cotton swab.
