Reasons why cats shouldn't be bathed too often:
1. Cats' skin secretes an oil that protects it from external bacteria. Frequent bathing will destroy this oil.
2. Frequent bathing can deplete the vitamin D in a cat's fur, leading to calcium deficiency and, in severe cases, bone diseases.
3. Cats spend about 4 hours a day grooming themselves, licking away dirt, dust, and bacteria, so they don't need to be bathed frequently.
Dangers of frequent bathing for cats:
1. If you bathe too frequently, such as once a week, it will wash away most of the sebaceous glands in your body, leading to dry hair.
2. Bathing can cause significant stress for cats, and frequent bathing can lead to abnormal appetite, such as loss of appetite or overeating.
