Because cats have different metabolic abilities than humans, most mosquito repellent products are toxic to cats, including mosquito coils, electric mosquito repellent liquids, floral water, and mosquito repellent essential oils that we use daily. Most of these products contain ingredients such as pyrethroids and DEET, which can cause chronic poisoning in cats if used daily. Therefore, cat-owning families should not use them.
