Not necessarily. If a male cat stays with his kittens all the time, he will recognize them. However, if he's separated from them for a long time, he won't recognize them. This is because cats are independent individuals and can have many kittens with different females. Therefore, they neither care about their own kittens nor have the capacity to remember so many. Furthermore, cats distinguish themselves by scent. Since the female cat gives birth alone without the male cat present, there's no direct scent connection between the male cat and the kittens, and the male cat won't recognize his own offspring.
Do male cats recognize their mates?
Not necessarily. Male and female cats will recognize each other if they live together. However, if they are only bred, they will not recognize each other. Each cat is an independent individual and will mate with multiple cats throughout its life, so it will not remember its mate.
