Deworming for cats is generally divided into internal and external deworming. Internal deworming is generally recommended every 3 months, but can be extended to every 6 months. External deworming is recommended every month, but for cats that are frequently indoors, it can be extended to every 3 months. Cats are constantly walking on the ground and licking their fur, so they inevitably ingest parasite eggs. Even indoor cats need regular internal and external deworming. 
Methods for deworming cats:
1. Choose deworming medication: Commonly used internal deworming medications for cats include Milbemax, Bayer, and Advantage. For external deworming medications, Advantage and Frontline are recommended. Always follow the instructions carefully when administering medication, especially for internal deworming.
2. Before and after deworming: Internal deworming should begin 4 hours after the cat has eaten, followed by a 5-hour fast to ensure effectiveness. For external deworming, follow the instructions to apply the prescribed dose of medication to the cat's shoulder blades. However, closely monitor the cat's condition to prevent licking the medication. Do not bathe the cat for one week after deworming.
3. Observation: After deworming, cats may experience symptoms such as gastrointestinal upset, vomiting, diarrhea, or even fever. Generally, these symptoms will improve within 1 to 2 days. If this situation persists for several days, it is best to consult a veterinarian.
