Why do cats like to knock over their water bowls?
Reason 1: The owner placed the cat bowl in the wrong location.
Actually, when a cat knocks over its water bowl, it's often related to its owner. It's very likely the owner's fault that the cat doesn't like its water bowl and simply knocks it over.
If you put your cat's water bowl, food bowl, or litter box together, your cat will dislike its water bowl after smelling the other scents.
If cat litter gets into the bowl, the cat will become curious and try to remove it. So the cat will grab its water bowl, which will eventually cause the water bowl to tip over. 
Reason 2: The water the cat drinks is not clean.
If you don't frequently change your cat's water to fresh, clean water, your cat will also be unhappy; cats have a very sensitive sense of smell and taste; moreover, cats are very clean animals.
If a cat notices that the water in its bowl isn't clean, it will get angry!
When cats get angry, they will naturally spill the water in their bowls. They would rather drink water from the tap than drink the water you prepared for them.
Actually, you should change your cat's water every day, because cats have so much fur on their bodies that it's inevitable that the water will be full of cat hair.
Reason 3: The cat just loves to play.
Actually, most cats knock over their water bowls because they love to play. Cats are active and curious, and when they notice the water moving around in the bowl while drinking, it piques their curiosity.
So the cat drank water and played with it at the same time, eventually knocking over the water bowl.
If you get off work early, it's fine. But if you get off work late or go on a business trip, and your cat knocks over its water bowl, won't it go without water?
