How to remove a tick from a cat
If you find that your cat has been bitten by a tick, do not try to remove it yourself. Take your cat to the vet immediately. The vet will disinfect the area around the wound, anesthetize the tick, and then remove it with tweezers after the tick is completely anesthetized.
When a tick burrows its head into the skin, its barbs pull it tighter and tighter. If you try to remove it yourself, the tick may leave its head inside the skin, leading to further infection.
If you want to remove a tick yourself, you must wear gloves and use small tweezers to hold the tick close to your skin and slowly pull it off. When pulling it off, do not twist the hand holding the tweezers. Make sure to pull out the tick's head and body together, because ticks contain many viruses. If the head is not removed, it can cause skin infection, and in severe cases, it can lead to babesiosis.
You can also use a cigarette butt or something similar to burn the tick to kill it, but this method can easily hurt your cat, so try to avoid using it.
When bathing your cat, you can use a long-lasting, anti-mite and flea-killing herbal nano-slow-release bath solution. Long-term use will kill ticks, fleas, and other parasites, and also has antibacterial and antipruritic properties, preventing parasite infestations. Use 2-3 times a week, 3-5 minutes each time.
You should also bathe your cat in moderation. Frequent bathing can damage a cat's skin and cause skin diseases. If ticks are severe, you can increase the dosage yourself.
