There are many symptoms of constipation in cats. Common symptoms include increased litter box visits and frequent digging in the litter box, but difficulty defecating. Stool volume decreases, becoming dry and less soft, tending to be small pellets rather than formed stools. Defecation time increases, with each bowel movement consistently lasting more than one minute. Pain caused by difficulty defecating may result in painful howling during defecation. Other symptoms include fluctuating appetite, lethargy, reluctance to move, weight loss, but increased abdominal girth, and firm intestinal contents upon palpation.

Other solutions include increasing the cat's fiber and water intake, adding appropriate amounts of probiotics to their daily diet, and increasing their activity level. If the cat's constipation is severe, you can try feeding them an appropriate amount of lactulose.
