Iodine solution is not effective for treating ear mites in cats. Although iodine solution has a broad-spectrum bactericidal effect and can kill vegetative bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and some viruses, and is mainly used for disinfection of skin and mucous membranes, it does not have the effect of treating ear mites.

Ear mites are ear canal parasites and require treatment with medication specifically designed for ear canal parasites. Therefore, if your cat has ear mites, you should use a specialized ear mite wash and deworming medication, and follow the instructions of a veterinarian for proper treatment.
