When cats are deficient in trace elements, they may exhibit behaviors such as eating foreign objects, like soil, plastic bags, hair, licking walls, or litter boxes. It's recommended that pet owners tidy up small items in the house before feeding their cats to prevent accidental ingestion. You can try using pet-specific trace element supplements to see if the symptoms improve. If there's no improvement or the condition worsens, you should take your cat to the vet immediately.
2. Consider whether the cat is hungry. When a cat is hungry, it may eat cat litter or other substances. It is recommended to feed the cat appropriately and scientifically according to its weight.
3. Cats' curiosity. A cat's strong curiosity will prompt it to taste the cat litter. Most cats eat cat litter when they are kittens and have just started eating solid food. It is less common for adult cats to eat cat litter.

7. The cat is bored. Cats love to roll around and play in the litter box. Occasionally eating something might just be a "new experience," but if the owner doesn't intervene, it can become a habit and "lead to health problems." 
Symptoms of a cat eating cat litter:
After a cat eats cat litter, you need to observe its condition recently. If any abnormalities are found, deal with them promptly. Usually, after a cat eats a small amount of cat litter, the litter will be excreted with its feces without any abnormal symptoms.
1. Ingesting too much can cause vomiting. Common cat litter includes pine litter, bentonite litter, tofu litter, etc. Generally, these types of litter will ferment after being ingested, leading to excessive gas in the stomach and causing vomiting in cats.
2. Constipation may occur. Bentonite cat litter is made of clay and is insoluble in water. If kittens accidentally ingest too much bentonite cat litter, it may cause constipation, and in severe cases, it may cause intestinal obstruction, leading to abdominal pain in the cat.
3. Diarrhea may also occur. Used cat litter can harbor a large number of bacteria, and kittens are easily infected and develop enteritis if they accidentally ingest it, which in turn leads to diarrhea.
4. It may also cause rectal bleeding. If the kitten accidentally ingests crystal cat litter, the granules of crystal cat litter may have sharp edges, which may scratch the intestines and cause rectal bleeding.
5. Cats may experience indigestion. If a cat accidentally ingests too much cat litter, it can lead to indigestion. In this case, the cat should be taken to the nearest veterinary hospital immediately.
