Which foods should not be given to cats indiscriminately?
1. Vegetables and fruits: potatoes, toon leaves, broccoli, garlic, chives, scallions, oranges, lemons, mangoes, apples, plums, grapes, star fruit, peaches, apricots, cherries, avocados, pomegranates, passion fruit, pears, etc. These may cause vomiting, intestinal obstruction, difficulty breathing, severe high fever, and even death from poisoning in cats.
2. Nuts: Pine nuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, etc. These may cause dizziness, vomiting, choking, muscle pain, and joint swelling in cats.
3. Beverages: Milk tea, soda water, juice, coffee, beer, etc. These can easily cause cats to vomit, have diarrhea, and experience indigestion.
4. Staple foods: Glutinous rice balls, rice cakes, leftover rice, fried rice, etc. These can affect digestion, clog the trachea, and put a burden on the cat's kidneys due to their high oil and salt content.
5. Meat: Shellfish, pork, raw eggs, bones. These may scratch the digestive tract and cause indigestion.
Foods that cats can eat:
Foods rich in protein, such as chicken breast, beef, lamb, goat milk powder, and eggs, are recommended. Small amounts of carrots, cabbage, and other fruits and vegetables can also be included to supplement the body's need for vitamins and minerals, and to promote gastrointestinal motility and aid digestion.
