Catnip, a herb that cats love, is actually a perennial plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It's dried, ground into powder, and placed inside cat toys. Approximately 50% of cats are attracted to the scent of the leaves and enjoy scratching or chewing them, but this doesn't mean cats need to consume catnip to maintain their health. In fact, catnip is a hallucinogenic plant. 
Besides catnip, other toys that cats like include:
1. Cat teaser: Cat teasers are inexpensive and easy to use, but it takes a little effort to tease a cat.
2. Plush toys: Most cats love them, but they are not very durable and are easy to lose.
3. Spring Mouse: Not all cats will like it; some cats will even be afraid of the strong spring.
