How to measure a cat's body temperature:
1. Rectal measurement: Before measuring rectal temperature, you can apply some lubricant to the tip of the thermometer to avoid discomfort for the cat. The mercury needle of the thermometer is inserted into the anus about 2 cm deep, and the reading can be taken in 20 to 30 seconds.
2. Intra-ear measurement: Gently grasp the ear with your fingers, then insert the ear thermometer into the ear, press the measurement button, and the data will be displayed.
Solutions for cats with overheated temperatures:
1. Place the cat in a quiet, shady place and wipe its body with a damp cloth to allow its body temperature to slowly decrease.
2. If a cat develops a fever accompanied by symptoms such as general weakness, lethargy, and loss of appetite, it is likely due to a pathological factor. In this case, the cat should be given oral antipyretics or taken to a local veterinary hospital for examination and treatment.
