An adult cat eats about 4.5 pounds of cat food per month, about 75g per day, divided into two meals. This may be increased slightly when the cat is pregnant, sick, or has a high level of activity. Since each cat's appetite is different, the amount of food given will vary. Owners can check if their cat is full by touching its belly and adjust the amount accordingly.
How to determine if an adult cat is full:
1. A full belly in a cat indicates that the amount of food is just right and no additional food is needed.
2. If a cat's belly is a little flat, it means it is not full yet, and you can add more food as needed.
3. If a cat's abdomen is severely distended, it means the cat has eaten too much, so reduce the amount of food given to it.
