Good food for Somali cats:
1. Commercial cat food: Choose a nutritionally balanced cat food and occasionally feed your Somali cat canned food, meat strips, etc.
2. Vegetables and fruits. You can give your cat green vegetables or fruits such as apples and pears to supplement its vitamins.
3. Homemade food should include nutrients such as protein, fat, minerals, vitamins, and trace elements. Therefore, cooked meat and vegetables can be mixed with rice or noodles for feeding.
Foods that Somali cats cannot eat:
1. Milk: It's best not to give milk to kittens because milk has a high lactose content, which can easily cause lactose intolerance and diarrhea.
2. Foods high in salt: Cats are very sensitive to salt. If the salt content is too high, it can easily cause salt poisoning in cats, as well as worsen eye discharge and put a heavy burden on their kidneys.
3. Raw eggs and raw meat. Just like humans, cats may become infected with Salmonella or E. coli if they eat raw eggs or raw meat. Symptoms vary and may include vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.
