1. Cats are solitary animals and do not live in groups. In fact, very few felines live in groups. Apart from African lions, which live in groups, leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, pumas, and even lynxes are solitary, not to mention tigers. 
2. Stray cats may appear together in large numbers, but they neither cooperate in hunting nor form a fixed, interconnected small society; they cannot be considered social animals. Socially living individuals have very close relationships with each other.
