1. If a cat is overweight, it will have flabby fat on its belly when it stands up. This flabby fat usually feels soft.
2. If your cat has excess fat on its abdomen, it is recommended that you help it lose weight. Being overweight can put a strain on your cat's urinary tract and liver, and in severe cases, may cause urinary retention in male cats.
3. Owners can help their cats lose weight by reducing the amount of cat food they feed them and choosing slow-release cat food specifically designed for weight loss. At the same time, high-fat foods should be avoided.
4. If the flesh hanging down on your cat's abdomen feels hard to the touch, it may be a cyst or tumor. It is recommended that you take your cat to the vet for an abdominal ultrasound or X-ray as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment.
