How long should the interval be between kitten vaccinations?
A kitten's first vaccination requires three shots, each approximately 21 days apart. After completing the three shots of the feline triple vaccine, a rabies vaccine should be administered one week later. Afterward, only a booster shot and a rabies vaccine are needed annually.

Kittens generally need to be 9-10 weeks old or older to receive vaccinations. Kittens younger than 9 weeks old still have antibodies from their mother's milk, and if vaccinated at this age, the vaccine and antibodies will interact, rendering the vaccine ineffective. Owners can also have their kittens tested for antibodies; if the kitten has antibodies, vaccination is unnecessary.
