What harm can happen if you bathe your cat too frequently?
Many owners bathe their cats, which is not a problem in itself. However, it is important to note that the frequency of bathing should not be too frequent, as bathing can still cause some harm to cats.
Cats are naturally clean animals, yet most are afraid of water and baths. While bathing a cat can make it cleaner and prettier, prevent skin diseases and external parasites, improve blood circulation, and promote healthy fur growth, bathing a cat too often can be very harmful. 
Generally speaking, cats only need a bath once every 1-2 months, and it's not advisable to bathe them in cold, damp weather. This is because a cat's outer layer of skin has a protective oil layer that prevents parasite infestations. Frequent bathing damages this natural protective barrier, exposing the cat's skin directly to the elements, causing it to lose elasticity, become thinner, and less resistant. This makes them more susceptible to parasitic diseases or skin inflammation.
I've also encountered some owners who bathe their cats twice a week during the hot summer months. This is a very different situation, and according to these owners, their cats enjoy the bathing process and never seem to have any problems. These are extremely rare cats that aren't afraid of water. However, bathing can damage the skin to some extent, so owners should still arrange bathing according to their own circumstances.
