What are the taboos when interacting with cats?
1. Suddenly hugging or kissing a cat
Cats are actually quite afraid of sudden kisses and hugs. Even if their most familiar owner does this, the cat will strongly resist because it's not psychologically prepared. Cats are terrified of sudden kisses and hugs; even with the closest relationships, most cats will refuse because they're not ready! After all, cats generally have a rather aloof personality and prefer to maintain a proper distance from their owners. Therefore, owners should be careful to choose the right time to kiss or hug their cats, allowing them time to prepare beforehand, otherwise, it might make the cat dislike you.
2. Speak to the cat in a loud voice.
While cats don't like overly enthusiastic attention from their owners, they also strongly dislike overly rough treatment. For example, if you yell or shout at your cat, it's very likely to annoy it, and the cat might even think there's something wrong with you. Therefore, owners should try to be gentle with their cats to avoid frightening or scaring them away.
3. Harming the kitten
For most animals, their kittens are their mother's treasures, and cats are no exception. Cats are extremely protective of their young, and if they perceive you harming their kittens, they will genuinely attack you. Therefore, it's best for pet owners not to approach newborn kittens unnecessarily; simply ensure their safety and health. Otherwise, if you get too close, the mother cat may perceive it as an attempt to harm her kittens and attack you.
4. Forcing a cat to do things it doesn't like.
Cats are stubborn and have their own ideas. If you force them to do things they don't like, they will hate you. Therefore, it's important for owners to understand what their cats like and dislike to avoid triggering their pets' reactions—this is the biggest taboo in cat relationships. Only by accurately understanding your cat's preferences can you have a pleasant relationship with them. If you want your cat to be more obedient, play and interact with it more, rewarding it with treats during these interactions. This will make your cat like you more and be more willing to listen to you.
5. Not feeding the cat on a regular schedule
Cats suffer greatly from hunger. If owners don't feed their cats regularly and frequently let them go hungry, it's no wonder the cats resent it. Therefore, cat owners must pay attention to feeding their cats at regular times and in measured portions. This also helps cats develop a healthy digestive system.
