Kittens with tear stains need a proper diet
If the owner feeds the silver shaded cat improperly, such as feeding it human food, high-sodium foods, or giving it dry cat food, and the cat doesn't drink enough water, the cat will develop tear stains due to internal heat. The owner should first adjust the cat's diet, ensuring it's bland and providing plenty of water. Additionally, the owner can mix a tear stain remover into the cat's food.
Cats naturally produce a small amount of eye discharge daily. If owners don't pay attention to their cat's eye hygiene and don't clean the eye discharge for a long time, it will accumulate in the corners of the eyes, leading to bacterial growth and tear stains. Owners should use tissues or a damp towel to clean the eye discharge and then apply some cat eye drops.
Tear stains in kittens need to be observed around the eyes.Eye abnormalities in cats can also cause tear stains, such as blocked tear ducts or ingrown eyelashes. Silver Shaded kittens will exhibit tear stains in these cases. Generally, owners cannot treat this at home and must take their silver Shaded kittens to a professional for assistance.
