Cats are often nocturnal, so they frequently wake their owners up at night. This can happen if the cat suddenly jumps onto your bed, makes a lot of noise, or meows incessantly. This is a common headache for owners, and you certainly can't jump up and hit the cat. Therefore, we need to address this issue through our daily care. Here are a few solutions:
1. The simplest way is to close the bedroom door when you go to sleep to prevent your cat from running in and out.
2. Keep your cat awake during the day or increase its activity level. You can play games with your cat, and you can place a cat climbing frame by the window so that your cat can jump up and look at the view outside. Toys should be rotated every few days to keep your cat interested and prevent it from getting bored.
3. Play with your cat before bedtime.
4. Don't feed your cat in the morning, because it's its mealtime and that's why it wakes you up so early. You should feed it small amounts of food multiple times a day. If no one is home during the day, you can consider using a timed automatic feeder, hiding food in anti-depression toys, or hiding small treats for your cat in various places around the room. Then, feed your cat its main meal (the largest meal of the day) before bedtime.
5. You can make a loud noise to scare your cat when it starts playing at night. If you do this many times, you can correct its behavior. However, the premise is that the cat must not know that the sound that startled it was made by you.
6. Completely ignore its nighttime behavior; even if it cries to wake you up, you must resist the urge to do so. However, once you decide to do something, you must persevere. If you persist for a while and then give up, it will only teach the cat that as long as it persists, it will definitely achieve its goal.
