It's normal for kittens to have a small amount of eye discharge every day. However, if a kitten has excessive eye discharge every day, it's very likely due to a feline respiratory virus infection, such as feline herpesvirus, feline calicivirus, mycoplasma infection, chlamydia infection, or psittacosis.

To deal with eye discharge in kittens, first check their eyes for any abnormalities. If the discharge is due to immature eyes, it generally doesn't need treatment and will disappear on its own as the eyes develop. However, if it's caused by infection, allergies, or other diseases, seek veterinary treatment promptly to prevent eye damage.
