3. The most likely reason a cat ventures out is during its heat cycle. Generally, their range of movement is limited. If the cat is usually shy, it's likely hiding in a corner. It's commonly believed that lost cats mostly come out at night. To find a lost cat, do so at night, calling its name while looking around the vicinity.
