The cat died after taking a bath due to stress. The ancestors of cats originally lived in arid regions with little water, so they had no ability to swim and had never seen water. When they did see water, they would avoid it and regard it as a disaster, just like people would avoid some unknown things. 
Therefore, suddenly bathing a cat exceeds its psychological capacity and can cause stress. Severe stress can cause some cats to refuse to eat, resulting in liver damage and sudden death.
Causes of cat death during bathing
1. Bathing kittens under 3 months old.
2. A new kitten, less than a month old, is being bathed.
3. Bathing a sick cat with a cold.
4. Bathing a cat that has just been vaccinated.
5. Forcing or violently bathing.
6. Not drying oneself promptly after showering.
