How often a cat defecates per day is closely related to its diet and physical condition. Generally speaking, it is normal for a healthy adult cat to defecate 1-2 times a day.
However, kittens defecate differently than adult cats. Kittens over 6-7 months old defecate 1-2 times a day; while very young kittens may defecate 3-4 times a day. These are all normal phenomena.

In addition, if your cat is constipated, such as not defecating for more than three days, or if its stool is hard, dry, or contains blood, you should seek veterinary attention immediately. If your cat's bowel movements become significantly more or less frequent, or if it exhibits other abnormal symptoms, you should also take immediate action.
