Cats can eat yogurt, but in moderation. The milk in yogurt undergoes fermentation, breaking down the proteins and lactose, making it safe for cats. Furthermore, yogurt can aid digestion; if a cat has eaten too much and is experiencing indigestion, giving it some yogurt can help. Yogurt is also rich in protein, lactic acid bacteria, various trace elements, and calcium, which can supplement some of the nutrients a cat needs daily.

However, not all cats are suitable for drinking yogurt. For kittens, whose gastrointestinal tracts are not yet fully developed, yogurt for humans may contain a lot of additives and preservatives, which may irritate their gastrointestinal tract and disrupt their normal flora.
