A cat's normal body temperature is between 37.8 and 39 degrees Celsius. Of course, the temperature may vary depending on the location of the measurement. Generally, the temperature in a cat's groin area is about 0.5 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature near its rectum. As long as the cat is healthy, its overall temperature will not fluctuate by more than 1 degree Celsius, and is usually around 38.5 degrees Celsius.

If a cat's temperature exceeds the range mentioned above when measured, it is likely that the cat has a fever, and the cat should be taken to a veterinary hospital for fever-reducing injections as soon as possible.
