Cats should not drink whole milk. Milk contains a large amount of lactose, and both cats and dogs are naturally lactose intolerant. After ingesting large amounts of lactose, cats may experience symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. Prolonged diarrhea can lead to dehydration, hypokalemia, and acidosis, all of which are harmful to a cat's health.

While some cats may not show obvious symptoms after drinking milk for a short period, long-term or excessive consumption of whole milk can still pose a potential threat to their health. Therefore, it is not recommended to give cats whole milk.
