Symptoms of constipation in cats mainly include difficulty defecating, frequently adopting a posture as if they want to defecate but failing to do so, or passing small, hard, and dry stools. Sometimes, the stool may contain mucus or blood. Cats may also exhibit decreased appetite, weight loss but increased abdominal girth, and palpation of the abdomen may reveal firm, sausage-like intestinal contents.

If your cat exhibits symptoms such as frequent vomiting or lethargy, constipation should be considered. If in doubt, please consult a veterinarian promptly.
