Whether a cat will consider a human as a companion largely depends on the cat's personality and its experience interacting with humans. Some cats do indeed see humans as close companions; they seek human company, petting, and attention, and show dependence and affection towards humans.
However, some cats prefer to live independently and don't need human companionship as much.
