Cats can die from falls from heights of more than two meters. 1. Although cats are good at climbing, if they fall from a height and accidentally hit their head or spine, causing fractures, it can be fatal.
2. Falling from a height can cause internal injuries in cats, such as internal bleeding, ruptured diaphragm, or ruptured bladder. Severe bleeding can lead to shock and death. Owners should prevent their cats from climbing, and those living in high places should keep doors and windows closed.
How to stop a cat from climbing high places
1. First, hide a small Bluetooth speaker near where your cat climbs (make sure it's well hidden). Then, find a very loud sound online using your phone. When your cat climbs to a certain spot, immediately play the sound on your phone, and the speaker will suddenly start playing. Cats don't like sudden noises, so after being startled, they'll try to find the source of the sound. During this time, the cat will still try to climb higher, giving you the opportunity to play the sound via Bluetooth. The more times they're scared away (actually only five or six times), the more the cat will perceive the sound as a way of preventing them from climbing.
2. Add scents that cats dislike, such as citrus fruits. Since cats hate the smell of citrus fruits, simply place items with this scent in places where your cat likes to climb, and it will stop trying to climb them. Cats have a much stronger sense of smell than humans, so when they smell unpleasant odors, their reaction is more intense, and they feel more uncomfortable.
