There are three possible reasons why a cat always goes to the litter box:
1. Increased water intake in the cat recently or frequent urination due to pregnancy.
2. The cat has a urinary system disease, which causes symptoms such as frequent urination and incomplete urination.
3. Gastrointestinal diseases can cause constipation or diarrhea in cats. Owners are advised to carefully observe their cat's urination and defecation. If any abnormalities occur, take the cat to a veterinary hospital for examination and treatment immediately.
Here are two ways to prevent urinary tract or kidney problems in cats:
1. Maintain hygiene for your cat and its living area. If your cat's surroundings are noisy, unsanitary, or the litter box is improperly placed or dirty, it can lead to urinary tract infections or frequent urination, potentially causing cystitis or even urinary stones. Therefore, to prevent urinary tract diseases in cats, owners should ensure a clean living environment and a hygienic litter box. The litter box should be placed in a relatively quiet and safe location within the home, away from where the cat eats, rests, and sleeps, making it more comfortable for the cat to use the litter box.
2. Provide your cat with appropriate nutrition. When treating urinary tract problems in cats, veterinarians usually use anti-inflammatory drugs, injections, or other medications. During treatment, this can cause some damage to the cat's liver and kidneys. Furthermore, the continuous intake of anti-inflammatory drugs can affect the cat's appetite. Therefore, it is especially important for owners to give their sick cats probiotics and nutritional supplements to protect their liver and kidneys and regulate their overall health.
