How to correct abnormal eating habits in cats:
1. Cats with anorexia should be given a cleaner feeding location and food. Another possibility is a respiratory illness. In this case, after medical treatment, you should try to encourage the cat to eat with delicious food to stimulate its appetite.
2. Cats with bulimia may not initially show significant health problems. However, over time, this can lead to obesity. In such cases, it's important to increase the cat's exercise and feed it low-calorie food. Fasting and dieting should only be used under the guidance of a veterinarian; do not attempt these on your own, as they can have adverse effects on the cat.
3. Cats with pica will exhibit this behavior by ingesting things other than their normal diet. We often see cats chewing on plants they've grown or kneading yarn. One method is to create a conditioned reflex. When the cat is eating foreign objects, you can spray it with water or yell at it to scare it. After a few times, the cat will correct its pica behavior. Alternatively, you can apply a scent it dislikes to items it frequently licks, such as vinegar or deodorant. The cat will be disgusted by the smell and give up pica. However, this won't work on the first try; you'll need to try several times.

1. Genetic inheritance: Some specific breeds of cats have a higher chance of developing pica, such as Siamese cats and Maine Coons, which are high-risk breeds for pica.
2. Illness-induced: When cats are sick or have brain problems, their behavior may change, leading to indiscriminate eating and eventually pica.
3. Mental health issues: Cats may exhibit pica (eating non-food items) as a way to seek security or anxiety when they are stressed or anxious. Some cats may also eat pica out of boredom, simply to pass the time.
4. Some experts believe that if a cat is deficient in a certain element, it will supplement its deficiency by eating foods rich in that element.
