Things cats hate:
1. Items containing citrus oil. These items contain citrus essential oils, which can damage and irritate a cat's skin if it comes into contact with them. The monoterpenes in citrus essential oils cannot be metabolized by a cat's liver, and the D-citric acid in citrus oils can irritate the skin and respiratory tract. Therefore, citrus foods containing these ingredients are generally avoided by cats.
2. A dirty, smelly litter box. Cats are clean animals and are very particular about their food bowls. They will not eat if the bowl is dirty. If the litter box smells bad, the cat may be forced to find a substitute and may defecate or urinate anywhere.
3. Mosquito coils. The main ingredient in many mosquito repellent products is pyrethroids. Pyrethroids accumulate in a cat's body, and when they reach a certain concentration, they can cause toxic side effects. Different cats have different tolerances to pyrethroids, but every year there are cases of cats being taken to the vet because of mosquito coils.
4. Camphor balls. Camphor contains toxic components that can cause acute camphor oil poisoning in cats, potentially leading to death.
Things cats like:
1. Catnip. Catnip contains a substance that makes cats feel excited after eating it. Even aloof kittens will become docile and affectionate after consuming it.
2. Cat tree. Cats love to climb, so a cat tree is a perfect toy and a must-have for cat owners. Without a cat tree, cats usually run around the house, but having one helps to keep things a bit better.
